Brennan’s Ugly Sweater Run was founded in 2017 by Payton Comazzetto in memory of her older brother, Brennan who was hit and killed by a drunk driver in 1999. The festive 5k family, friendly fun-run has hosted more than 1300 participants and is growing quickly.
Since its inauguration, the event has raised over $40,000 and more than $5000 in product for the Boys and Girls Club’s Power Start program, a breakfast program for children experiencing challenges with food sustainability. Feeding 325 children for an entire year, Brennan’s Ugly Sweater Run focuses on creating positive mental and physical well-being within the Kamloops community. With over $13,000 in prizes and giveaways in 2019 and 2020, this is the most affordable run/walk and the only Christmas run in the Interior.
As of 2019, Brennan’s Ugly Sweater Run is the second largest running event in Kamloops!
